Mitchell:

I really liked the display and size of the phone. The deal breaker for me was that it doesn't have a keyboard (the number pad really doesn't count as far as I'm concerned) or touch screen. The other thing is that it just felt sluggish to me. Maybe I'm spoiled by the Treo 650 (yeah, I know I am...). So, I sent the SP5 off to Rob to write a review.

Mitchell, the SP5 is a truly cool phone.

The only thing that bugged me was the lack of a touch screen. If I were going to use it just as a "smartphone" while carrying a separate PDA, and as a backup PDA for times when I didn't want to carry two devices, then it might not be so bad. But not being able to touch the screen and quickly enter or find info by that method would be a deal-breaker for me, if I was trying to use it as a main-brain PDA.

I am sure others would have no problem with it, tho. That's why there are is something for everyone. :0)

Judie/Julie, what do you think of the SP5m? I am thinking of buying one when they become available in Australia, and then choosing between it and the Wizard. Its screen looks gorgeous, and its size (and no need for a case) makes it a winner. And the WiFi is the reason I would get it over other WM5 smartphones.

Okay Judie - the million dollar question - since you are a Sprint customer - and happy 6700 owner - when is eBay going to see that SP5m? I am thinking that model is going to be my next smartphone and would love a chance to bit on a gently used Mobius model :)

Awww - I feel bad now. It's already gone on to a happy new home. Interestingly enough, I popped an inactive T-Mobile SIM card in it and got full signal strength- but we "don't have T-Mobile in San Angelo yet." Yah, right. :p

@RedHed97, I wrote an entry in my gear diary about the 6700, but I don't think I will be doing a full-bore review. I need to write an update pretty soon...

Great coverage, almost like being there... NOT! ;)

My input on the perfect mobile phone: a Palm OS PEBL (not that MS would care to hear that.)

Seeing everyone with their laptops made me wonder, did anyone have the guts to whip out a Powerbook?

Yes, Howard was there. I'm just braindead and accidently left him out of the list. I even sat next to him on the plane on the way out there! I've just updated the list. Now I wonder who else I forgot.

Wasn't Howard Chui there?

I don't see Howard Forums listed in your list of represented sites.

I'm WAY jealous of your gifts. I'm still waiting for my SP5 (the sister of the SP5m.)

I actually purchased the Oakley BT glasses when they first came out but ended up returning them. Couldn't get used to wearing sun glasses all the time. Removing the BT part when you're inside is sort of a pain.

Jon, The glasses are nice, but they were too big for me and they fit my husband strange. I would definitely recommend trying them on before the actual purchase. I like the idea of them very much, tho.
