Hi Julie,

I just wanted to note that I bought what is the exact same device here in Germany but it came with a hard drive and is known as the TEAC Show Me Player. I have none of the issues you have. The only issue I have is that some of the newer DIVX stuff it says is not supported but TEAC says that they are going to support it for firmware upgrades. The proof is in the pudding as they say though in that the firmware is over a year old as well.

I don’t think it’s really meant as a mobile device. At least I don’t look at it as one. I think it’s best served as a way to view content on your large screen TV. Sure, if you already have a notebook, that would be the way to do it… But for those that don’t, something like this is way cheaper.

I guess I don’t understand the point of this device. I could just use my laptop to do the same thing, why would I want to carry something else with me.
