Water protection seems to be the biggest benefit of the OtterBox products.

So you buy a solid state mp3 player with no screen and essentially no moving parts, and it needs protected? Exactly WHICH part of the thing needs protecting?

I saw a torture test of a Nano which survived being tossed out of and then run over by a car. Took a fall from upwards of 40 feet to get that thing to stop working. What sort of abuse would a Shuffle sustain to make it stop working?

I can understand maybe needing a waterproof case, but beyond that? Just more foolish items for the Apple culties to spend their $$$ on.

Let me get this straight. You pay bucks to get the smallest lightest player you can find, then you pay $30 more to quadruple its weight and bulk it up so its bigger than the first generation mp3 players of four-five years ago.

Why not just get a pile of cut-out Rios and throw them out every time your motorcycle hits a tree?

I don't know this product but I use two of OtterBox products for over 4 years, models 2000 & 3500 to carry my Palm T3 and Canon digital camera.

Despite extended travelling, I always keep those two items with me at all times and so far OtterBoxes prove to be very solid and reliable. I strongly recommend their products they are very well made and seals keep working perfectly.

Hope this helps.
