Hi Judie
I read your review but did not find the information that I saw in another that tested the memory of this gadget and found it to be "less than" other devices due to its older technology in their use of USB 1.1. This makes it quite a bit slower.

Here is the link for the complete article that was given:
http://www.atruereview.com/victorinox/index.php

Thanks
Regards, Mark

My wife got one of these LED keychain lights for $8 on sale:
http://www.rei.com/online/store/ProductDisplay?storeId=8000&catalogId=40000008000&productId=9863843&parent_category_rn=4500588&vcat=REI_SEARCH

It is VERY bright and quite focused. It is a real flashlight compared to the diffuse red LED in my little Swiss Army knife.

256MB Sandisk Mini Cruzer: <$30
Victorinox Swiss Army Knife: <$10

There are cheap, small swiss army knife models with pen and tweezers or pen and flashlight. If you want the tweezers, you can get a tiny LED flashlight for $5-10. Also, the 256MB Sandisk Micro Cruzer (very small) costs ~$40 and Staples currently has the 1GB Mini Cuzer for $99 (after $30 rebate).

Having one swiss army knife that does everything is a cool idea, but unfortunately this is expensive and doesn't have enough capacity or tools. But if they fit a USB-drive on the Cybertool, that could be sweet!

paulg,
I feel for you! I almost lost my cool when TSA took my mini Swiss Army knife (1.5" blade) too. Partially because I was also dragging 2 kids, 2 strollers and a bunch of carryon thru (and the wife was acting up). Then I got the full search on the way back because I had forgotten to put my cell phone thru the X-ray (again with the family in tow). As soon as "I beeped" (remember Mel Brooks?), I was done for - no 2nd chance to put my cell phone on the machine. This time I just gave the TSA guy the attitude that he was just wasting everyone's time.

More security is good but to nab people for such little things just irks me.

BTW, I replaced my knife with one that is like the currently reviewed one, except without the USB drive*. The LED light is a bit diffuse but usable for its intended purpose. I like Judie's use of the file with the pen. I hesitated because of the lack of toothpick and tweezers (darned TSA!) but realized that I had used them only twice in 8 years.

no tweezers or toothpick - what's the point?

<rant>
And seriously, having lost one leatherman micro at the airport at 5:30AM because I forgot to take it off my keychain and another early morning dash to stash my new leatherman squirt so it was not confiscated, I will not buy a tool like this until airport security gets real.

Seriously, I fly less now because I can't take tools with me including a pocketknife.

Does anyone really think that some motherf&^(ng raghead with a pocketknife is every going to hijack a plane again? There would be 25 passengers stuffing his head into the blue water in 10 sec.- razors or not!

Until things get real, a neat device like this won't make it into my pocket.

Swiss Army marketing needs to slap the TSA around!

</rant>

Thanks, I feel better!
To replace my leatherman P4 Squirt it needs 512MB min. and make it red/bright white LED selectable!

Oh, I see on think geek there is a travel version sans the kinfe!

Yeah, but the best part of a Swiss Army knife is.....the knife ! That's why its not called a Swiss Army Nail-file. Although it is occasionally handy to have a screwdriver or nailfile, the one thing you always will need eventually is either a scissors or knife to open one of those indestructable packagings or cut some chord, or to remove the airport security binder around your luggage ( which is very hard to do by hand ).

Anyway 64MB is way too small. I would think at this time, 256MB is the mininum.
