Never would qualify as "After the first of the year". My product-philosophy is, if they can't get it working as advertised in under a week, I return it. I can always go buy another unit when they are working, but it's very hard to get a refund after a few weeks and much harder after a month... and if they haven't solved it in 48 hours, the odds that they'll care enough to solve it later are vanishingly close to zero.

Seriously, why lend them the purchase cost of it while they pretend to do some research?

So I take it that nearly two weeks later the only response you've received is roughly, "We'll call Korea"?

Helpful. These guys deserve to fail. Tell me you returned it for a refund.

10basetom:

Do you know who actually makes these? I've seen them advertised at Radio Shack, but I'm not sure who the manufacturer is.

I just got this email from Pogo! tech support:

Hello,

Since you told us you successfully programmed your TV we take it that none of the codes you have tried worked for your DVD.

We are looking into the possibility that the code for your DVD player is not in the database for the remote.

We are working with the factory (in Korea) to determine if this is the case and if your DVD player is not in the database we send you an updated remote with the proper code inside.

As soon as we determine this we will let you know.

Please give us some time as Korea is in a different time zone.

Thank you for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Best regards,

Jesse
IT/Support/QC
PoGo! Products, Inc.
www.pogoproducts.com

I'll let you all know what happens...

I received something similar to this a year or to ago as a gift. The voice command feature was pretty worthless. If the volume on the TV got too loud, it could not distinguish between spoken commands and background noise. Made it very frustrating. It also was essentially a one user remote, unless you took the time to have your spouse go through the steps to teach it as well.

As far as universal remotes go, get one with a JP1 interface. Fully programmable to your hearts content, and pretty cheap when you can find clearanced Radio Shack units.

Looks like a POS product, sounds like a POS product. And HHAHAHAH, and they used black pencil erasers as rubber stands, what retards.

And if couch potatoes aren't supposed be the first ones to die in this over nutritious under-excersiced American nation, this device will put that final nail to their predetermined death certificates sent from God himself.

AMEN?

Well, thee only problem with that idea is that you can't exactly blindly command the remote - because you do have to push the [Voice] button to activate the voice feature.

I am usually that organized, tho. ;)
