Judie, would have liked to have meet as I really enjoy reading the Gadgeteer but not from your needing to come to see me at work. Great hospital but not where someone on vacation would want to spend time. Glad the Branson area was so great for you and your family. Many attractions for all ages.
Might I suggest Big Cedar resort on Table Rock Lake for a furture visit with a side trip to their Dogwood Canyon 10,000 acre private nature preserve. The lake is an often overlooked part of the Branson area.

I really do need to get there and check it out. Vegas was starting to add "family" type themes but have now gone back to their roots. I have family in Kansas and Branson is a yearly attraction for them, I guess I need to head east... The farm remark was in jest, someone from Coffeyville Kansas would never say anything nasty about farmers or ranchers. Now Texans, thats a different subject......

redaily,
Well - I have to admit that I am glad that I didn't run into you, considering where you work. :)

ss1543,
Well, 2 days of that week were spent driving...but as for the remaining days - we were having a great time - and we never once went to see Andy Williams. ;)

We DID enjoy the Acrobats of China (AWESOME show), the Showboat Branson Belle (corny show but the boat is fun, the scenery is terrific and the meal is very good), the Dixie Stampede (great preshow, corny main show but a fun and tasty meal).

We played a ton of miniature golf on several FAB courses and rode the craziest go-carts on raised wooden tracks. I could definitely do a lot more of that!

We had several other excellent meals, including some very fresh sushi at Shogun.

BTW - ranching is my "day-job" and if you don't think that farmers and ranchers use some of today's most cutting edge gadgets, then you are just being a cubicle-snob.

Branson is one of the most beautiful towns I have ever visited - and I have been and lived all over the world. I think it is just amazing that Branson has become what it is: a huge family tourist destination. Since we went with my 13 year old daughter and my mom, there was something for each of us.

If you spend more than three hours in Branson you lose your Gadgeteer status and revert to a Farmateer. A WEEK my god what were you thinking. How much Andy Williams can one person stand......

I work in Branson, Missouri so I noted that you had vacationed there. Hope you had a great time and plan to come back soon. I am a ER physician at Skaggs hospital (the only one in town).
I use a Sony NR70V constantly at work, mainly medical reference programs. This has largely replaced using the massive paper versions.
